THE SKY BLUE – AN AUSTRALIAN FIRST
Shell & Fin Aquatics is proud to offer the first Sky Blue Mystery Snail in Australia. This is Australia’s first Lightfoot color morph, a genetic variation that lacks the dark charcoal pigments found in traditional blue lines. While standard blues carry a dark body that "muddies" the shell's appearance, our Sky Blue features a perfect color match between the shell and the foot. This results in a clean, unified, pastel-azure aesthetic that remains vibrant as the snail matures—standing out as a true genetic rarity in the Australian hobby.
A VERSATILE AQUASCAPE SHOWPIECE
The Sky Blue is a master of contrast. The soft, pastel-blue body mirrors the translucent azure of the shell, giving the entire snail a vibrant presence that excels in "jungle" style tanks. Against the deep textures of dark wood and heavy greenery, the solid blue pigment pops with a neon-like glow, making it easy to track and enjoy your specimen even in the most densely planted environments.
THE SHELL & FIN STANDARD
Every snail is raised in our mineral-optimized studio environment. We maintain a strict high-calcium regime to prevent the pitting and erosion common in mass-market varieties, ensuring your specimen arrives with a thick, healthy, and high-gloss shell.

Diet: Premium sinking pellets, fresh blanched greens, and specialized "Snello" (calcium-enriched gel food)

SHIPPING FEES & COVERAGE
Flat Rate Express Livestock: $30.00 Australia-wide. We currently ship to VIC, NSW, QLD, SA, and ACT. Due to strict biosecurity regulations, we do not ship live snails to the Northern Territory, Tasmania, or Western Australia. All orders are sent via Australia Post Express to ensure the shortest possible time in transit.
THE 1-HOUR DOA WINDOW
To be eligible for a claim, you must provide a continuous, unedited video of the package being opened. This video must be emailed to our studio within 1 hour of the official Australia Post delivery timestamp. The video must clearly show the shipping label and the condition of each snail in its unopened, original transit bag.
DISPATCH & WEATHER PROTOCOLS
We dispatch live specimens on Mondays and Tuesdays only to prevent snails from being held in sorting depots over the weekend. Shell & Fin Aquatics reserves the right to delay dispatch if extreme heat (35°C+) is forecast; you will be notified via email if a weather hold is placed.
ADVANCED GAS EXCHANGE (BREATHER BAGS)
We use specialized breather bags that allow oxygen in and carbon dioxide out. Please do not be alarmed by the low water volume (approx. 150ml–200ml per snail); this is a deliberate professional technique designed to maximize the surface area for gas exchange.
WATER QUALITY & SAFETY
Every shipping bag is treated with Seachem AmGuard, a powerful ammonia binder that remains active for up to 72 hours. This ensures your snails are protected from toxin buildup during their journey.
CLIMATE CONTROLLED PACKAGING
Every order is shipped inside a high-density insulated thermal esky. This provides a critical buffer against temperature fluctuations, ensuring your snails remain in a stable environment from our studio to your door.
